The amazing Kblack.

The hustle to make impacts and difference at a young age, is a trend and the port hacourt music industry is not left out of it.

Kblack a.k.a. the short black boy, is one of the young entertainers thriving to make a difference.

He shares his experience with us. Read and get inspired.

CAN WE KNOW YOU.

I am Kenneth Ogbuluijah, i hail from Adoni tribe in Rivers state.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE MUSIC.

Music has always been a passion from my day zero, it has been my motivation, when am down, music soothes me.

WHAT EVENT LED TO YOUR BREAK THROUGH.

I was signed up to contest for a rap battle in an etisalat easy clique show, in 2016, by a friend the event was hosted in my school, Rivers state University Of science and Technology (RUST). I won the contest and it made me realize I was born for this.

DID YOU GO INTO PROFESSIONAL MUSIC IMMEDIATELY.

No, my friends had to push me into something I really wanted to do but was scared of, based on the family, and you know how African homes are on such issues.

I released my first single “Ocean flow” this year, January to be precise.

TALKING ABOUT FAMILY, WHAT WERE YOUR PARENTS REACTION.

At first, they were not cool with it, they were more of “school first, after school anything comes”. But when they started seeing the growth they just had to accept it, they are cool with it now, funny enough they call me Kblack when they are in the mood though.

YOUR A TWIN, WHY ARENT YOU DOING A DUET LIKE PSQUARE.

We are both into music, but we have our different areas of concentration, he does sound, and production, why I do the raping or should I say singing, we work together alot.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE PUBLICITY.

For now we do more of social media hype, I work hand in hand with mayor of port hacourt who is an entertainer also and my manager.

ANY SPONSORS.

No, but we are working towards getting one.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE PROBLEM OF PH MUSIC INDUSTRY.

It’s the lack of team spirit, they all want to work solo.

WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO IN THE INDUSTRY.

I look up to M.I, Whizkid, davido and in the foreign scene, I look up to J. cole, Kendrick Lamar and more.
