Federal Government declares Friday 22 as a public holiday

On Wednesday 20th, the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Bello Dambazau issued a statement announcing that Friday 22 will be a public Holiday for all Nigerians.

The day will be a work-free day but bankers and others providing essential services are excluded.

In the statement, Lt. Dambazau said that “the work free day is to enable citizens return to their polling units for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections.”

He also added that, “security agencies have been directed to ensure safety of lives and property before, during and after the general election.”
